Great news! We have just received our determination letter from the IRS that allows Sail Salem to act as a public charity. This means we can begin to receive donations so that we can get this program up and running. Therefore, if you know of people that may be interested in making donations, please contact myself, Jason or Jeff so that we can get the process started.
The radio show “North Shore Now” hosted by Jackie Ankles and heard on WBOQ 104.9 F.M. and WNBP 1450 A.M. will air a piece on Sail Salem on May 26th and 27th. The schedule is as follows:
WBOQ 104.9 F.M. - Sat., May 26 - 9:30 a.m. and Sun. May 27th at 6:30 a.m.
WNBP 1450 A.M> - Sat. May 26, - 8:30 a.m. and Sun. May 27th at 6:00 a.m.
This organization can only succeed with your help. Please spread the word about Sail Salem. We will try to host a volunteer meeting in the beginning of June. Stay tuned for date and time.
Thanks for your support!

Progress Continues
We had a great meeting with the Parks and Recreation department of Salem on March 20th. Dave Smith and Jeff Earl presented our vision and goals for a community boating center on Winter Island. The members of the Parks and Recreation community were very excited about the idea. We will be presenting again at the April meeting. At this meeting we hope to determine where would be the best location for a community sailing program in 2008.
Meanwhile, lot’s of people have been asking us about Sail Salem. It has been great to talk to everyone. There is a real buzz around Salem and the surrounding communities. We all hope to spend time this summer talking to as many people as possible about Sail Salem. If you want to know how you can help, reach out to any of us.
